Many great ideas come about very simply. Jewish Stock Photos is no exception!

My son is a graphic designer, and does a lot of work for Jewish agencies. He told me one day that he was having difficulty finding appropriate Jewish-themed stock photos. I didn't believe it could be that hard, so I tried finding some myself -- and discovered that there is precious little to choose from.

Being a professional photographer, I quickly decided to rectify the situation by creating this site, and starting to populate it with original stock photos. Of course this will take time, but I am devoting a certain amount of time each week towards shooting stock. I invite anyone who has specific requirements to email your requests to me -- if I can I will try to shoot requested topics first.

I have a number of qualifications that will soon make this the premiere site for Jewish stock photos:

• I happen to be a professional photographer
• I am an orthodox Jew (so I really understand the themes)
• I've spent 30 years in IT (so I know how to make an easy-to-use web site)
• My son is a graphic artist/designer (so I understand the needs)
• There is almost no competition!

At the same time, I am sensitive to the fact that much Jewish stock photography is used by non-profit organizations. As such, I will keep prices reasonable, and offer all photos on a non-royalty basis (meaning that once you purchase an image you may re-use it as often as you wish -- within the limits of our license agreement.)
